BabyJellyBeans issued a challenge to its members to enter their website in a contest to showcase how real people use BabyJellyBeans.com. Hundreds of websites were entered in the contest in hopes of winning best website in one of the following categories: adoption, pregnancy, newborn, family, multiples, older child, and family pet. The websites demonstrate the many features and design options available to chronicle childhood and the changing lives of new parents.

BabyJellyBeans designers worked with the winners to remove names and other information to ensure privacy and make certain the winners were comfortable with the information being shared publically

"It was truly inspiring to see how people use their website and the important role it plays in their lives," says Tricia Sakai, co-founder and designer. "One of the contest winners, a busy mother of three young children, posts photos and clever captions every single week, recording 52 updates for the year. Her website is an incredible journal of memories that she and her children will value and cherish for years to come."

The websites submitted for the adoption category contained incredible stories from families sharing their experience of the process, both as a resource for prospective biological parents and to share status updates of their adoption with family and friends. One particular couple's story told how they decided to adopt a child from China and the series of events that finally led to bringing home their baby girl.

"It was amazing to read through their experience," says Tricia. "The family documented how they waited year after year for their referral and 'Gotcha Day' and despite the painfully long process, they felt every single minute of the wait was worth it." Now they have a beautiful daughter and a book created from their BabyJellyBeans website documenting the entire journey.

"What I love most is that they continue to record and share their journey of their life with their daughter even years after they brought her home," added Tricia.
